Admit It, You Think Yoga Is Only For Women

We understand that a lot of men think yoga is only for women, but I’m here to bust the myth.

Yoga is for everyone.

We mean it. Men and women. Young and old. Flexible and inflexible. Yoga is for everyone willing to try it.

Real Men Do Yoga.

At Studio South, we have two wonderful male yoga instructors, Felix Vlad and Paul Crapol. They join the ranks of many male celebrities who swear by yoga including:

Matthew McConaughey

Orlando Bloom

Boaz

Robert Downey Jr.

ODuran/Fame Pictures

And many more… but I get it, you’re thinking, “only women care about which celebrities do yoga.”  Fair enough. How about the brave men who serve our country? Soldiers do yoga to stay physically and mentally fit.

Yoga is just as beneficial for men as for women.

Yoga keeps you fit, flexible, relaxed and healthy. There’s always something new to learn. It’s beneficial for both your mind, and your body.

Yoga is challenging.

Some may think yoga is easy, but even NFL players admit that it’s difficult. Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson said of his first yoga class, “I was like, ‘I need to get up and walk out of here,’ but my pride wouldn’t let me walk out before everybody  else, so I just sat in the back and acted like I was pulling the moves off, but they … knew I was messing up...I knew there was a good chance that I wasn’t going to be able to do everything in there, but I had no idea how tough it was. Other athletes would say, hey, it’s tough. But it was a lot tougher than I expected.” Did I mention Russell Wilson does yoga?

If these professional athletes think it’s tough, I assure you that you will too.

So, do you think you can compete with celebrities, soldiers, and professional football players? I'll see you on the yoga mat.... if you're man enough.

Namaste y’all!
